  • Definitely places to visit, important step to understand the city with his mixture of vitality and tradition that overlaps in situations of neglect and decay. Some markets (like la Vucciria) after a certain time come alive with street vendors and small tables to eat. For those who love Sicily mete obliged.

  • The Arab heritage of Palermo before palaces and churches is visible and alive in popular markets that have nothing to envy to the souks of the Middle East. Markets are all three picturesque and worth a visit between colors, smells (not always pleasant), flavors and "rumors" that invite you to try and buy many different products. In order of typical folklore put it in first place the head extending from porta Carini (behind the Court) until via Beati Paoli and via Cappuccinelle; in second place, Ballarò (in the heart of the Albergheria, from home Professes to course Tukory) and finally the Vucciria (between via Roma and corso Vittorio Emanuele) that despite its "marketing" anyway it's worth seeing though is no longer the one painted by Guttuso.
