Chiesa del Gesù, Palermo
(4.7/5 based on 700+ reviews on the web)
Gaze at the endless display of Baroque architecture and adornments inside Chiesa del Gesù. Hidden inside a misleadingly plain exterior, detailed carved marble inlays cover the walls like a mosaic among statues and columns. Descend into the comparatively plain crypt, and after passing through the porticoed courtyard, view a large collection of portraits in the attached museum housed in the Biblioteca Comunale. Put Chiesa del Gesù and other Palermo attractions into our Palermo vacation generator, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • The Chiesa del Gesu and old, not very big, but very beautiful. Being inside her and a feeling of going back in time.

  • Catapulted to the edge of the Ballarò, you find yourself in front of this church that on first glance, at least externally, does not raise any amazement. But the inside is another story, a wonder to take your breath away. The Baroque that is King, polychrome marble, gilded decorations everywhere, hard to find an empty spot! Mysticism and art merged into a single Pearl of Palermo. A must see!!!

  • It is perhaps the most beautiful church I've ever seen. A wonderful work of art, which I don't think has no equal in the world. The opulence and Baroque opulence in this church reaches its peak. An unbroken decoration which embraces every corner every wall every square centimetre of surface available. However, stucco and frescoes by artists known as the Serpotta and Pietro Novelli to name a few. In other words enter this church means perdesi in Ecstasy and admiration for the art represented. Believe me it is good for the eyes and soul.

  • Not much to add, you just have to see it x understand the richness of this Baroque church. There is much to see especially if supplemented with the top view from the terraces of the Church. inquire first.
