Chiesa del Gesù, Palermo

(4.7/5 based on 750+ reviews on the web)
Gaze at the endless display of Baroque architecture and adornments inside Chiesa del Gesù. Hidden inside a misleadingly plain exterior, detailed carved marble inlays cover the walls like a mosaic among statues and columns. Descend into the comparatively plain crypt, and after passing through the porticoed courtyard, view a large collection of portraits in the attached museum housed in the Biblioteca Comunale. Put Chiesa del Gesù and other Palermo attractions into our Palermo vacation generator, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • The interior seems prebarroco. It is decorated in an exuberant way to celebrate the glory of Jesus and the Virgin Mary and is stopping in the chapels. The entry there is that search it a bit, gives to a square.

  • Not much to add, you just have to see it x understand the richness of this Baroque church. There is much to see especially if supplemented with the top view from the terraces of the Church. inquire first.
