  • It was the seat of the Emir Giafar son of April and renovated by the Norman Roger that exploits a natural spring of nearby Mount Griffon vi built a Fishpond and filled with fresh water, contrasted with those of the nearby sea salt. Hence the name Maredolce. The fishpond was rich in fish of various colors and races, but the most amazing thing was the construction of a small island in the middle of Lake shaped Sicily overturned on which stood two palm trees and that it was inhabited by rare birds and colorful ... It is said that Constance of hauteville, mother of Frederick II of Swabia, spent his summers at the Palace in search of coolness and that brought with it the small Frederick, destined to become the great emperor, called Stupor Mundi. U/w site rich in history and charm.

  • Although still under restoration, recommend a visit because the historical interest is remarkable. Brancaccio quarter in Palermo, infamous for the story of FR Pino Puglisi brutally killed by the mafia.

  • A unique and fascinating place. A short walk from the busy city you are immersed in an atmosphere full of colors and Arab architecture more than a thousand years ago! Beautiful landscape that surrounds it and the small lake which suggests could be the plain of Palermo many centuries ago before concreting.
