  • wherever he went, not the "left" impressed as on this occasion of the visit to the Temple of Neptune in Paestum archaeological site!!! I saw Niagara falls ... the penguins on the coast of South Africa ... the skyscrapers of Sao Paulo in Brazil ... "nothing" to the comparison!!! --Tuff columns of more than two metres in diameter, and approximately nine (!), spread over four architectural lines (... the two most deeply even two "orders" superimposed ...) to support the roof of the temple, which no longer exists, unfortunately, but with an entrance lintel intact ... the room of God (... cell ...) still recognizable in its Majesty ... and a sense of "impotence" and "blessed" ignorance that you "pervades" opposite those which were fabulous and tireless builders ... ... you think that the Greek architect who designed the temple, is the same as the Parthenon in Athens ... with an idea and a realization of at least 50 years before ... However!!! ... not had the marble and "arranged" with Tuff, it did cover with lime to make it uniform to the eye and then decorated ... ... even my son Francesco di 13 years remained dumbfounded ... never expected! ... a marvel "world" that we Italians especially, we can not visit ...

  • History ALL around you. Very well preserved ruins that will give you a glimpse into the lives of the Romans.
  • It's an amazing place and you're free to roam the entire town without all the fences. You can truly explore this place and get a real feel of what the city was like 1000's of years ago. There are some homes that still have the tiled floors. It's amazing!
  • The temples are huge and exciting to see. Other then that I have to say it wasn't that much to experience outside. There isn't much still standing and you don't get any overview over the place. The museum was interesting.
  • Amazing place to wander around freely, getting a proper feel of what it was like in its hay day. Lovely colours in the evening sun
  • It's amazing. Must be the best preserved Greek ruins in the world!
