  • The baptistery is a wonderful place, both for the beauty of the place is its unique character: is one of the few baptisterios of living water (running, not stagnant water) that are preserved from the early days of Christianity. A place missed for the lovers of the art and of the culture, and, above all, for them Christian. I was fortunate to visit the baptistery inside a pilgrimage route for the South of Italy and the experience was unforgettable, both the place and its meaning for me.

  • I visited the baptistery by accident because the owner of the hotel where I was a guest I showed. It was worth it. It's a unique environment for beauty and originality. As the baptismal water was used that on which stands the building.

  • A unique church characterised by being built in the waters of a natural spring. An early Christian basilica of which, already in 527 ad, Cassiodorus told of miraculous increase in the volume of water during the Holy Saturday. Passed to the order of the Knights of Malta, the structure presents a complex architecture, with round arches, and with a special charm typical of chapels. Inside it you can still see the altar, two of the seven steps and, on the apse frescoes. If the gate is not open, you can access the site from the nearby agriturismo La Fonte-live trout. The owners will be happy to tell you about the history of the Baptistery.
