Ragione Palace, Padua

(1,000+ reviews on the web)
Architectural Building
Supported by stories of arches, the medieval town hall of Ragione Palace contains one of the largest roofs unsupported by columns in Europe. Finished in 1219, the building contains 333 panels and three tiers of frescoes. The building also contains the Stone of Shame, where debtors were made to stand in their underwear and hit their bottom three times. There's also a wooden horse statue carved by Annibale Capodilista to be used in jousts. After admiring the impressive building and its art, visit several floors of food stalls within, as well as the food markets flanking the building outside.
