  • Frutta square is one of the many squares that characterise the historic centre of Padua, piazza delle erbe and piazza Capitaniato welcomes vendors of fruit, vegetables and clothes. Magnificent in three different ways, with the stalls, "empty" or with tables of the bars that are taking place. It is dominated by the imposing Palazzo della Ragione (which separates it from erbe square), on one side of the great Hall and the Tower of the elderly. Characterizes the piazza Colonna del Peronio. Difficult to see when there are benches of ambulati but very interesting is the medieval Peronio column, not very high, surmounted by a capital whose corners are depicted a pumpkin, a Palm tree, a quince, a pear tree, this is then crowned by a small obelisk in Istrian stone with old weather vane, whereon is depicted , in bas-relief, the coat of arms of the city and St. Prosdocimus.

  • With the piazza della frutta and gentlemen formed a trio that makes Padua something special, fruit and vegetable stalls make it alive, living, saving it from the artificial scent of other Italians who sold his soul to the big names.

  • Obbligatorio fermarsi il mercoledì sera!
  • Bella piazza
  • Is a complex of squares, the herbs, the Signoria with palazzo della Regione with porticos with the market where you can find unique horsemeat shops. It would be very nice if not cci were the stalls in disfiguring the charm. In ancient times the names of the same indicate the use to which it was done. To visit in person the photographs do not honor.
