Piazza dei Signori contains, among other attractions, the impressive facade of the Church of St. Clement from the late 12th century. Considered the most important plaza in Padua, this square hosted both the defeats and triumphs over the centuries of the city’s history. The clock tower designed by Giovanni Maria Falconetto and completed in 1532 still displays both the time and astronomical information. As the place where locals and those in the know meet up to have a drink, snack, or meal with a view, you can enjoy yourself just watching the people. Our Padua vacation builder makes visiting Piazza dei Signori and other Padua attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

  • It is a large square next to the Palazzo della Ragione; noteworthy historical architectural buildings, among others that surround it, is the clock tower, which separates the wide Piazza dei Signori from the small, but in some ways impressive, Piazza Capitaniato. Within walking distance lies the Cathedral. The square is divided among the tables of bars and clubs that surround it and the market stalls. The area is worth a visit!
