  • posted in a very large square, behind the Basilica. Masterpiece noted, there is no need to explain. In art books lack the physical context of the square, which crowns the statue of astute leader (a "honeyed cat"). To see just after sunset, when the crowd is gone, the stalls were closed and the backlighting of the sky is cut by the silhouette of the Basilica.

  • The Basilica of the Holy places in the background this important work of Donatello. It is the first equestrian statue cast in bronze by large times. A work amazing for its time,

  • Monument of Erasmo da Narni kondot′eru Italian nicknamed Gattamelata by Donatello works installed in 1443-1453, Piazza del Santo, next to the Basilica of St. Anthony. In this Basilica Gattamelata and buried. A monument placed on the decision of the Venetian Senate, in order to perpetuate the fame of an outstanding paduanca. I wonder what this monument is considered to be the ancestor of all equestrian statues installed in European cities in the future. A three-meter statue on a high pedestal fits perfectly into the architectural ensemble of the square.
