  • Near the Basilica of Sant'Antonio da Padova. I was Miss without the guidebook's equestrian statue of gattamelata. Are away from the center of the old town.

  • If you come to visit Padua surely will go to the Basilica del Santo, where you can admire on the left side of the square the stately bronze monument of the condottiero Erasmo da Narni said Gattamelata by Donatello. As per his testamentary wishes, the leader was buried inside the basilica and not at the base of the monument.

  • Its importance, art historically, is indisputable. An elegant an impressive monument that captures the political and social power structures of its day.
  • Smaller than anticipated and just a bit too high to admire the beauty of the piece. But quite nice nonetheless.
  • I disliked this was vewy bad.
  • Is a bronze statue created by Donatello. Erected in honour of the leader of the Venetian Republic Erasmo da Narni said Gattamelata, dates from the period between 1446 and 1453. Measure 340x390 cm, with the base of 780x410 cm. This is the first large equestrian statue cast from the times of antiquity and one of the first modern-era sculptures released by an architectural integration. I reference model is the equestrian sculpture of Marcus Aurelius in Rome. Sculpture that Michelangelo is at the heart of the Capitol.
