  • We have been in this very nice place only 1 hour drive from Rome last weekend. The Archaeological Park is very large, quaint, pretty well maintained and absolutely free of charge with the exception of the month of September in which cultural events in ancient costumes, outlay of 2-3 €. There are remains of the Roman Theatre (not many), market, and other Roman monuments. The day was sunny so we enjoyed it even more. Unfortunately the area is little appreciated in the sense that apart from a small bar at the entrance to the park there are playground or areas equipped to take advantage of the ample space. The nearby old town of otricoli makes me doversosa a visit to these areas. We will be back with the spring

  • It doesn't have the dramatic power and Visual impact of Pompeii or the dazzling grandeur of Rome but is certainly a place that welcomes and where the past comes alive and moving. The ruins surprisingly leaving the Earth and recreate the atmosphere of Roman times, with Gladiators, actors and masks, traders and travellers. For the entire journey, which can take you up to the bend in the River, an ongoing series of discoveries, survivals and evidence of a town that was fundamental to the food supplies, through the way of the Tiber, the Caput Mundi! A must visit ❗ ️

  • I love this wonderful piece of nature where most of the time we are completely alone, strolling through the ruins, over the meadows and down to the river side. There the atmosphere is truly enchanting! Although we are living only a few kilometers distant in PARADISO INTEGRALE, right in the middle of NATURE, we visit the parco archeologico 2-3 times a week. The walk is a pure pleasure - and the cappuccino at the Casottino at the entrance of the park is the best ever. Hopefully this site will maintain its beauty and won't disappear behind fences or lots of people. The enchantment you can breath here at the moment might get lost......
  • Take Highway Roma-Firenze and exit at Magliano Sabina turn left direction until you see the sign and Ocriculum OTRICOLI, there there is a large free parking in front of the bar. In the archaeological area there are other bars. Admission is still free. The visit is a large but very convenient and you can get up to the banks to the Tiber River. Is lovely in any season. I suggest you visit it is a find!

  • Visited various, always during the event "Ocriculum a.d. 168", the Park is well maintained and rich in testimonies of what was once the ancient Roman town.
