Torre del Moro, Orvieto

4.5
#6 of 41 in Things to do in Orvieto
Climb the 236 steps and treat yourself to an amazing view over Orvieto and the surrounding landscape from the top of Torre del Moro, one of the city's most imposing structures. The 47 m (154 ft) tower, now the symbol of the city, was originally built in the 13th century and first belonged to the pope before it became the property of the city. Over the centuries it has served various purposes, from wartime observation platform to the city's main water tank. Today, its clock and bells tell the time. If you don't feel like climbing all the way up, there is a lift that takes you halfway up the tower, leaving you with only 100 steps to the top. Our Orvieto trip generator makes visiting Torre del Moro and other Orvieto attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

With only 2.80 € out of can climb the Tower of the Moor and enjoy the beautiful view it offers. Is it possible to do the first two floors by elevator then things to do some stairs but worth it.

Entrance 2 euro, 80--a climb of 250 steps to get to the top, if you want you can take the elevator you blows up 80 ... the tower is located in the Centre of Orvieto stands with its large clock and its two bells. 360 degree panorama provides insights came in on, over the breathtaking medieval village. At 16:15 the bells ring I promise ... We were relaxed getting lost in landscapes when we is a shot ... I advise you before you get to say the times in which they ring the bells you might lose your eardrums. Unfortunately those who make tickets nn has plenty of foresight ...

A few euros for a panoramic view of the town, maybe to do tops first thing to discover all the attractions. Attention only to the tolling of the bells!

  • Great views over Orvieto and the Umbrian countryside. Walk to the top not too tiring (about 250 steps) and lift can take you halfway up.
  • Great views over the entire town of Orvieto, and - on a clear day - far into the countryside beyond. Well worth the climb to the top.
