  • Because I visited after sightseeing in Civita, I was not able to enter the interior of the cathedral at night, but the facade is a mosaic painting or a strange facade. I walked like a walk at night, but it was a town where you can taste the medieval feeling. The road is narrow and there are many cars driven by local people, so be careful. When I went by car, the parking lot of veterans is written on the site as free, but when I asked the woman who had stopped here, it was 1 euro in the whole day. Please note that. If you put 1 euro in the machine, you will be issued a parking ticket, so just put it on the dashboard. Other places seem to be a little higher parking fee, so for your information

  • The Cathedral is imposing them from every corner you get to Orvieto. Once you arrive in front of the facade you are left with your mouth open and your nose up. Beautiful example of Romanesque and Gothic art. The facade is enriched by the four low reliefs that represent Genesis the tree of Jesse and the life of Jesus and finally the Universal Judgment. The mosaics represent images of the Virgin Mary. Inside there is a central aisle where the statues of the Apostles are placed; and two aisles, on the right the nova chapel with frescoes depicting the universal judgment, while on the left is the Chapel of the Corporal where the Corporal's Tabernacle is guarded and displayed containing a linen tablecloth stained by the blood of Jesus of the miracle of the Eucharist of Bolsena.

  • It's a symbol of the city of Olivieto, and it's sitting in a large square in the city centre. It may be a bit of a rude comment, but it's a fine church that seems disproportionate from the scale of the city of Olivieto, and the glory of the ancient Olivierit is embodied. Especially the colorful tile patterns and paintings on the outer walls, as well as the many stone statues that are installed everywhere, are truly stunning and overwhelming. There was a large cobblestone space around the cathedral, and various events seemed to be held from time to time, and when we visited, the local classic car enthusiasts brought their favorite cars and exhibited them, as well as demonstrating the demonstration in the lead of a police car.

  • This is a wonderful place to visit on your Italy trip.It makes for a relatively restful day in a smaller town which dates back to Etruscan times. The cathedral itself is beautiful and impressive and sets the atmosphere for the rest of this quaint Village on a Hilltop. My 26 year old son enjoyed this town more than Rome, Florence, and Venice. The train stops here on its way from Rome to Florence so it is a convenient place to stop in to relax for a day. There are a lot of handcrafted pieces for sale in cute little shops and delicious food is available. Highly recommended.!!
  • Orvieto is situated at hillside. Wonderful town with a brilliant cathedral from medieval ages. It is really colorful. It stands on a square in the heart of old town. Beautiful exterior and breathtaking interior. Don't miss its chapel with extraordinary frescoes.
  • Orvieto is a beautiful medieval city almost intact on its architecture. It is wonderful to wonder in very narrow streets and stop on small shops or sidewalk cafes to suddenly arrive to the Duomo and be stunned buy its magnificence. The ticket is 4 Euros but with just one Euro more you have access to two other museums. Highly recommended to visit.
  • Most impressive duomo of the region! Side entrance for wheelchairs. Impressive fresco's. Read about the cathedral before you enter. It's worthwhile a visit. We had live piano music outside when visiting...
  • Incredible Church in such a small town. Beautiful inside and out. The Fresco's inside are breath taking! Get the Orvieto One Card so you can see everything.
