  • Not can let of see it. The Duomo or Cathedral of Orvieto, is dedicated to the assumption of the Virgin Mary and is one of the most impressive works of the Italian Gothic, medieval style. Its façade, which hardly begins to walk the streets of Orvieto, majestic appears in all its splendor is spectacular. Decorated with mosaics, it generates a chromatic printing without equal.

  • It is the heart of the Cathedral and the reason for its construction ... give abode worthy to witness the miracle of Transubstantiation, hence the recurrence of Corpus Christi.

  • The chapel contains a unique relic-the Holy corporal, which acted as the blood of Christ during the mass at Bolsena in the 13-th century. The relic was contained in precious reliquaries of silver with gilding and enamel (he closed, opened only on special occasions). The entire Chapel is covered with lots of murals on this topic, they are well illuminated, next lie small leaflets about Capelle. 14-century frescoes of stunning quality and degree of preservation, but their detailed description I have not found anywhere else.
