  • Definitely worth visiting if you are in Ortisei. The Museum collects the evidence, starting from the formation of the Dolomites, with the help of an explanatory video of clear understanding for everyone. The rooms are dedicated to minerals, fossils, wooden toys (the Val Gardena are true masters engravers), paintings, wood carvings, traditional costumes. A section is dedicated to Luis Trenker, the Gardena who distinguished himself in the world of cinema. On the ground floor is the library dedicated to the culture and language of Val Gardena, precious testimony of a people that wants to preserve its roots.

  • This beautiful small museum on local traditions, artists like Trenker, painters and a section on the history of the Dolomites, archaeology and the beautiful minerals. Not to be missed for lovers of science and culture. In addition also movies in 2 introductory languages.

  • Despite having already visited the Museum several times, whenever I spend a holiday in Ortisei I take any rainy day to return to review the small collection of minerals, the wonderful wooden sculptures of each period and size, the many valuable paintings, tapestries, the striking section devoted to the legendary Luis Trenker, as well as the spectacular collection of antique toys that never ceases to fascinate me , you can't miss. At the beginning of the visit you can sit in the first room to view an interesting documentary in which witness the birth of the Dolomites, and for some years within there is also something unique, a section of ancient entirely restored farm on which, through an interactive sliding panel, you can see the designs made by people who lived in the House at the time, as well as a movie that tells the whole story of maso , from discovery to the restoration to the transport in the country. In the entrance hall are then hosted exhibitions of various kinds (last year fossils of prehistoric animals from China) as well as a model of the country and a small exhibition of traditional costumes from Val Gardena. Hardly an appointment not to be missed!
