  • The historic city of Oria is characteristic, but uncared for. Don't just put the shields that indicate the District of belonging, by virtue of the palio delle contrade, but the attention to detail, street cleaning and above all the accessible monuments are important. Remembered Oria better but, over time, has deteriorated. Too bad.

  • Visited Oria in the last week of October to see our daughter who is on her uni gap year. The whole area is really beautiful with whitewashed buildings and cobbled streets. Would recommend for a quiete...  more »
  • We returned and I visited the historic downtown area, part of the Jewish ghetto that I hadn't visited previously. I confirm the maximum score, the old town in its entirety is fantastic, full of alleys, palaces and courtyard houses that climb the Hill, stairways, arches etc. an authentic jewel of Salento to visit; in my opinion one of the most beautiful villages in Italy and visited in the evening gives even more charm! Wanting to just find the NIT, I greatly enjoyed the passage of cars (but the neighborhood is populated then I don't think you can do otherwise; however, there are other historians put much worse in this respect) and then some historic buildings should be better looked after. Still worth a visit! PS: having gone late, I could not visit the Park Montalbano, but I hear it's lovely on the slopes of the Castle!
