Lago di Carezza, Nova Levante

(4.6/5 based on 850+ reviews on the web)
Nestled in a dense fir forest at the foot of the Latemar, Lago di Carezza is a small alpine lake known for its prismatic colors--in the Ladin language it's called lec de ergobando or “lake of the rainbow.” Fed entirely by springs and groundwater, the calm lake is an otherworldly aquamarine color and reflects the mountains above like a mirror. A path runs around the lake, offering hikes with amazing views of the emerald waters and the snowcapped mountains above. A bronze statue of Undine rests at the bottom, watching over the lake. • Emerald in the rear behind the mountain is like you've made for this photo shoot. Parking is paid, but we wish to build a car, drinking hesitate.

  • I saw this Lake during the summer, during one of my trips to the dolomite Alps motorcycle. The range of colors it offers is spectacular and without comparison, you pass from emerald green to a crystalline blue until you reach a cobalt blue by iterating through all the various shades of color among them included. The pine forest surrounding it offers a breathtaking and conveys a sense of peace and serenity. Must see at least once in their lifetime.

  • Amazing place. Better visited in mid to end of the summer. It reminded me the Canadian Rockies. But the best it is easily accessible from Bolzano Italy or Innsbruck Austria.
  • At the back of the lake you can take a nice 1hr walk uphill and back to the lake. Highly recommended!
