Cava del Carosello, Noto

Short hike to two swimming holes. The walk to the trail head is through the ruins of the old town, which makes it fun and interesting. The trail itself has uneven stones and loose gravel, so not a good choice for poor footwear or those who are not sure footed. My 15, 12, and 9 year old kids made it just fine. The second swimming hole is a 10 minute hike from the first, along a shared path with a gentle grade. The water is cold, and you will probably want water shoes.

Beautiful spot for hiking and swimming in crystal clear water. Attention: Don't take the SP64 directly from Noto city centre. We were guided there by Google Maps and ended up on a steep and narrow unpaved road. This is definetely not made for ordinary rental cars and may even be flooded! Better: Get directions for Noto antica via SS287 (you will also get on the SP64, but from the other side) and park your car at the entrance of the archeological site.

A very lovely location for a pleasant walk down to the river and fresh water pools below. Very quiet.

A natural small lake placed in the white and smooth calcareous rocks. Very crystal fresh water comes from the Concerie Canyon trough a series of small and nice falls. The highest fall (40mt) is made by the outcoming water from the lake. This place is like heaven
