  • Structure dating from the early Christian period with the baptismal font and surrounded by a Colonnade. The place is charming. Over the years they began to emphasize the structure. A visit is always enjoyable.

  • If you like ancient history and you are in the neighbourhood, this is for sure worth seeing. One of the oldest baptism churches in Italy (and perhaps the world) and maintained very well.
  • Few people know that the baptismal font in the center of the Byzantine Christian Baptistry is the second largest in Italy with 7 meters in diameter. There are 15 pairs of columns arranged in a circular manner; the same supporting the dome depicting a Greek cross. Inside there are Gothic frescoes dating from the 14th century; the baptistery, on the other hand, dates back to the 6th century. The cramped space between columns gives life to a legend: who manages to pass between them, has a pure soul. Try this! Cons: you have to be lucky to find it open because "official" schedules are not met (Mon-Sun 9-13, 15-sunset), there is a reference website if not to a nice school project and the information are complicated to obtain.
