Meet Piemonte, Nizza Monferrato

We had the best trip ever. Our guide Alessandra showed us everything worth seeing in the Barolo area. She was genuinely interested that we had a good experience. Alessandra is incredibly knowledgeable and good at communicating her knowledge so that the tour appears very interesting. Of course we visited a wine house where we got to taste different types of their wines and an interesting introduction to winemaking. This trip and the guide can be highly recommended

This tour exceeded our expectations! We had a wonderful time. Our guide Giovanni is very knowledgeable about the wine business since he is a winemaker himself. He’s also very personable and fun to be with. We started the tour by visiting "Fratelli Ravello", a winery near La Morra in the Barolo region. Elena Fratelli, who works in the winery with her parents and brother, showed us the property and directed us on a very nice tasting of their most iconic wines. Then Giovanni recommended a very nice restaurant in the area, where we had the local specialties. We loved the Plin, a pasta dish of small ravioli. Next, we visited "La Ganghija", the winery owned by Enzo Rapalino in the Barbaresco area. Enzo's family had owned vineyards for many years, but he is the first one that decided to make wine. He is also introducing some innovations in the process. It was nice to hear about his passion for making a top product. The last stop was "Cascina Galarin", the winery owned by Giovanni and his family. They specialize in Barbera D'Asti. What a treat it was to have a taste of those fabulous wines! This tour was a wonderful experience that we will remember for many years to come. We wholeheartedly recommend it!

Alessandra was an amazing guide! She was very informative and a pleasure to keep company with. The wine tour was delightful and the truffle hunters were amazing ! It was so fun to watch the dogs “play” and learning about the training process and relationships of the dogs with their people. A heartwarming and interesting experience. I already had an appreciation for truffles, this experience makes enjoying truffles even more special.

Marco and Valentina led us on a memorable tour of Barolo town and the surrounding area. A highlight was a tour and tasting at a boutique winery they work with - Costa di Bussia. Both guides offered interesting information about the region’s colorful history, its people, its soils perfectly suited for growing grapes, and, of course, the different wines made here. Their English was good and Marco was a careful driver.

We highly recommend the truffle hunting and wine tour in Alba! Our host Alessandro was fantastic, giving us great insights into the region and making the experience feel very special. Highlight was meeting the beautiful truffle hunting dog. It was a unique experience to see truffle hunting in action - a part of Piedmont history passed down through the generations. 5/5 experience and a must do when visiting this region!
