  • No need to go to the moon to see a lunar landscape. If you find yourself in Sicily near Catania what I recommend for once is not to look towards the sea but inland. 1892. From here on, everything has changed. Or rather ... is this the time of the eruption in which you have created these craters. A fracture in the Earth. the magma ... and lava everywhere. Nicolosi is la porta dell'Etna from here you must pass to reach the Summit. The refuge wisdom is the point from where the cable car and where you can catch all the excursions for the craters. While those lows that are broadly of the shelter are accessible on foot. The visit will certainly suggestive. It will be definitely worth getting on top of this natural disaster of enormous proportions. but it is also expensive since you must take both the cableway which then wheeled transport. It costs 30 euros the funicular leading halfway ... then other 33 euros per person for the last stretch. For those who don't want to spend all this money I would say that is enough visit the craters around the hut. In any case, wrap up warm ... even in August at those altitudes in cold weather and maybe it is best to avoid flops.

  • Easy stroll in family that can go in a crater not too far from the road. He does not smoke but we can well imagine how can attend this place a rash.

  • After several visits to mount Etna, this time I decided to go along with my sons Silvestri craters, and are never as usual at Rifugio Sapienza anyway just 500 m stroll on the edge of old craters with a terrific panorama, it drops even within craters, lovely scenery, kids love it.

  • Cold food, cold staff, more than expensive for too little food and awful toilet. Waited over 45 minutes to be served cold pasta and risotto, than other 30 minutes for cold tiny pieces of roasted meat. They didn't provide oil salt or pepper for the salad. Avoid going there for a meal if you have a chance. Bathroom was disgusting. No water coming out from the water tabs, no toilet paper, no hand paper towels, hand dryer worked but only with cold air. And it was way to dirty! Worse than old highway gas station toilets. They managed to kill and ruin a perfect day. Will never step foot there again.
  • The service was awful. We waited 40 minutes just to be able to get the card to order food. When we were ready to order we had to wait another 15 minutes to order. The waiter wasn't really nice to us we couldn't really order they looked at us as if we where really disgusting. Maybe he just didn't like us, the food was okay I wouldn't go there again because of the unfriendly service.
  • pistachio pasta is excellent. 3 pasta special provides a good contrast in tastes. when we were there in winter there was several dishes not available, but still a good selection of tasty food for a tourist mountain spot.
  • I had one of the best pasta alla norma over here. Fresh riccotta salata on top to complete the artwork and don't forget you are getting it at a few hundred meter from the Etna crater.
  • Nice market...
