  • We started at the Resiapass border between Austria and Italy and enjoyed our 5 day ride through the stunningly beautiful and dramatic landscape very much. The route which is separated from the roads a...  more »
  • I have walked this path several times, but for the first time I added the part of the via Claudia Augusta leading from Reschenpass and runs through the Val Venosta. Unique views! The first part is quite wild: the track is in very good condition, partly paved and partly in gravel smooth, UPS and downs, with even long descents (check bike brakes). It starts at about 1,500 meters and go down to about 300 in Merano (80 km). To recommend a stop in Glorenza, beautiful town surrounded by medieval walls (grab coffee in the square!). Traveling in part amid FIR and larch trees, then we move on to crops of apples, crossing beautiful manicured villages. There are particular difficulties and I met several families with children. You get to Merano, enjoying the scenery, and descend a few hairpin. The whole track is well protected: there's only a few short crossing of the country. Aid stations here and there. Possibility to take the train from Malles to Merano when you are tired.

  • Beautiful, well maintained bike path that winds through the meeting along the Vale. A must stop at Forst.
