  • The feast of the Epiphany, in spite of the rigid temperature we visited the mining village Rosas, an important mining site reconverted for tourism purposes and under Unesco protection. Two days in advance we booked by phone to visit the mines and lunch at the food court present in the village, where at that time there was the post office. Upon our arrival we were received at the reception of the village and from there we moved to the visit, accompanied by an experienced guide and courteous who told us in great detail to outline the evolution of this site, first in the historical Museum where it was narrated the history of the mine, with exhibition of minerals including Rosatite here and become a symbol of the mine continue to visit the gallery which can be reached by a train then walk with helmet to see drilling techniques and equipment used at the time. The tour ends in the washery, renovated and dedicated with functioning machinery for the separation of minerals by flotation. At the village it is also possible to stay overnight in the homes of the miners that have been refurbished and are available for the stay of foreigners. I want to make a special mention for the recovery and management of this mining site, really a great job ... in addition to the food court where at a fair price we tasted delicious dishes of Sardinian cuisine. Also mention the guide who drove us that with so much passion we transferred some of the history and traditions of the site. Recommend that you visit the village will not regret!!!

  • The mining village Rosas lies in Narcao, just off one of the many villages of the town (which is common to almost all countries of this part of Sardinia) located at the foot of the homonymous mountain and its surroundings, is an account of the history of Granada hills and around the Sulcis, founded and still based its survival on mining (or you can still base its survival on this as this same mine is full and could help, returning to activity too soon) round beg in the Museum located inside the former washery and brings back a lot of mining and mineral processing artifacts themselves. Then it goes to the most direct part of the story: you enter the mines. The street expects uphill (to be done by car or shuttle bus provided) and the use of helmets for entrance into the vein open to the public) the guides are insanely competent and many anecdotes are interesting. Finished with the mines back to Valley and pass at laverie (where the ore was purified). This part quite exciting. The village also includes a food court, a hostel and also a shuttle bus (the road leading from the town to the village is not the best). Special mention to flea, the little dog guides and who follows them around for mines, really fun. Place to visit, and that there were more such museums

  • We visited the mine of rosas on the recommendation of friends, very impressive imagine the miserable existence that addressed these poor workers, very friendly, personable guides around by train.
