  • I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience with Avis in Naples. The staff let us leave our bags for the afternoon so that we were free to explore the city before collecting the car. More importantly, the staff were very very friendly and took the time to explain everything very clearly in English. The car we were given was almost brand new (a Peugeot 208 rather than a Fiat Panda, which I was happy with as apparently Fiat's are frequently stolen in the area). Very quick drop off and fair assessment of the condition of car on arrival. My only comment would be that although the office is extremely well located if you are arriving by train, you will have to the confidence as a driver to get out of heart of Naples, which is as manic as you might expect. That said, even though it seems like chaos, the other drivers were in no way aggressive and with a decent GPS it shouldn't be much of a problem.
  • I reserved a BMW 2 series, and they give me a minivan. That was the only available option. Crowded and inefficient the day I was there. It was raining, and very little space for people to stand sheltered. Car was clean and in good condition though. This may be the norm in Naples, so I'm not sure if the other rental agencies would be much better.
  • After we were very rudely turned away by another car rental company, they were very nice and helpful at Avis, even apologies on the other lady's behalf, even if they were a different company. They deserve the five stars.
  • We hired a car from Avis Noleggio Auto Napoli in May 2016. We’d booked it from Australia. No problem. Unfortunately we got a parking fine in Taormina costing 43 euros. They’re hard to avoid. On returning the car, we offered to pay the two women at Avis the fee as long as we got a receipt. They weren’t interested. So we waited in a post office near the railway station for two hours and paid it. In early Oct we got the first letter from Avis Naples demanding 43 euros which I queried. Then we got another letter demanding 43 euros. We found out today Avis has debited my partner’s Visa account. My advice is to take a long, hard look at comments on car hire blogs about hiring cars in Italy and especially in Naples. We will never hire another Avis car again.
  • Tried to rent a car for a day on this store and the unfriendly attendant tried to push some extra charges on the car (more than doubling end price) and after being confronted so as to why would I have to pay for, for example, parking on a designated parking garage close to the office, she called me (in italian) stupid to the other attendant. What she didn't know is that my fiance speaks Italian... Poor, ridiculous behavior from someone who is supposed to be, at least, courteous with the client. I would give this place a round zero stars if it was possible.
