  • Before you write something on the wonderful visit at the Palazzo Reale in Naples, I would like to clarify one thing: I read a few reviews of visitors, well, one person wrote that this is one of the most beautiful Savoy Holds! Savoy? But this Palace beautiful, able to rival Versailles, is the work of the Bourbons, the Savoy mica .... Then they used even the Savoy, Savoy Palace is another matter, but defining it is blasphemy. In fact, it has been built from the dwelling place and 600 Spanish Viceroy from 1734 to 1861 .... Savoy? I said this morning, as part of cultural tours to the great city of Naples (an immense historical monumental artistic content) we went to three to visit Naples ' Royal Palace, located in Piazza del Plebiscito, which used to be called "Largo di Palazzo" ... I wonder why! Did the ticket (just 4 euros, a pittance, given what you visit) we first climbed the monumental staircase, a masterpiece that intimidates its grandeur. Then, on the first floor, the Tower of the Royal apartments: sale on salt, richly decorated, huge chandeliers, giant mirrors, paintings by Italian and foreign artists (Massimo Stanzione, Mattia Preti, Luca Giordano, De Mura etc etc) complicated watches, rugs, tapestries, rich floors, inlaid tables of gemstone jewelry, vases of all kinds, and then stunning the Court Theatre (at a guess at least 300 cross show? places they go there) and Chapel , with an altar all inlaid stones, and a Nativity scene, amazing. And salt, salt, salt. Staff always helpful and willing to provide explanations, audio guides, huge spaces, so the visit can scroll through quiet. In short, a bath in the splendor of the Court, a Court of another era, where Naples was the third city in Europe, after London and Paris. A visit not to be missed, and I would avoid the first Sunday of the month, in which free admission attracts considerable crowds. And if possible at a later time I would go to Caserta to visit the other great Bourbon Palace (but where did you see the link with the Savoy that visitor?). The ultimate tour would then go to the hunting lodge of Carditello. ... Bourbon, great dynasty in the big city! Visit the Royal Palace!

  • The palace is beautiful with approximately 45 rooms, each with different decors. The grand staircase is amazing and a defining feature of the palace. The palace is reasonably priced at 4 euros each. W...  more »

  • Good value for money at €4 and you get to see lots of rooms and plenty of info along the way Being renovated so outside covered in scaffolding but let this put you off. Really pleasant escape from the heat and noise
  • Ok but not super impressive. Many rooms not open.
  • Nice but curently half of the castle is in renovation and closed for visiting.
  • Stunning. Way more beautiful than I expected. That staircase, that theatre, those ceilings...
  • Haven't been inside, since the it was closed, but the building looks impressive from outside.
