  • Built by emulating the basilica San Pietro ... most majestic town offering stunning views from every angle! The Church inside is much simpler than San Pietro yet elegant!!! Some chapels housing the tombs of princesses of the House of Savoy and duchesses d'Aosta Elena and Anne of Orléans (in the cappella della Pietà, consecrated in 1951 in the presence of the Duchess Anna), Cardinal Alessio Ascalesi, Corrado Ursi and Michele Giordano and di Maria di Gesù Landi. The basilica is the pipe organ built in 1964 opus 499 Drummers. the instrument, electric transmission, has three keyboards of 61 notes each concave pedalboard and-32 radial. The sound material is entirely located in the ambulatory between the apse and the transept to the left, except the horizontal Trumpet 8 ' log, which is located in the apse, on either side of the altar. In the church there is a Baroque positive organ built in 1769 by Domenico Antonio Rossi. The instrument is mechanical transmission and has a single keyboard of 45 (C1-C5) notes with the first octave broken without pedals. Next to the Basilica there are the catacombs of San Gennaro a must visit

  • Need to walk quite long to access. His interest is the proximity to the beautiful park of Capodimonte and especially the catacombs of San Gennaro.

  • The Basilica dell'incoronata Madre del Buon Consiglio is the newest Basilica di Napoli. In fact he wanted to create an imitation of Saint Peter's Basilica in the Vatican, regarding both the exterior and the Interior, as to be called "little San Pietro": majestic and important but little known. The Church was strongly supported by a pious nun, Maria di Gesù Landi, very devoted to our Lady of good counsel, so as to paint his likeness on a painting by the painter Spanò, and, according to legend, in 1884 when the picture was shown to the people, stopped a cholera epidemic in Naples; as well as in 1906, its exposure outside the balcony of casa di Maria broke off the eruption of Vesuvius, and ash that covered the city began to wane. Following these events he obtained the recognition of the cult and the coronation of the switchboard (1912) on the forecourt entrance we find interesting marble fountain of "Duchess", called so because commissioned by Duchess Helen of Aosta and the entrance we find a copy of Michelangelo's Moses. The characteristic of this imposing Basilica is that it possesses important mosaics and a large number of magnificent works coming mostly from churches in the past demolished or danger, as well as eight statues representing the Apostles placed on eighteenth-century altar from the demolished Church s. Giovanni dei Fiorentini, moreover, on the counter, we the coronation of the Virgin, the Nativity and the deposition and in the chapels and in the aisles important paintings , always from other churches demolished. Other chapels House tombs of various famous personalities of both the nobility and the Church. The basilica is the famous pipe organ built in 1964: electric transmission, Drummers with three keyboards and concave pedalboard-radial. We also find a magnificent Baroque organ, built in 1769 by Domenico Antonio Rossi, mechanical transmission and a single keyboard without pedals.
