Galleria Borbonica, Naples
(4.8/5 based on 4,400+ reviews on the web)
Walk the underground tunnels at Galleria Borbonica, which that once connected a royal palace to army barracks and served as a bomb shelter during World War II. In the 16th century, 300 years before Bourbon king Ferdinand II decided to build a military underground passage, the tunnel housed water tanks for the city. You can still see the tanks, along with vintage cars, motorcycles, and fascist statues that were thrown away. One of the three available tours includes a raft ride in an abandoned subway tunnel filled with water. To visit Galleria Borbonica on your trip to Naples, use our Naples vacation planner.

  • The young Annalisa accompanied us on this exciting journey into the heart of Naples. The site, discovered by a young geologist, continues to be placed in the care of many young volunteers who, besides drive visits, are doing to free up the space debris that have been piling up for years and years. Expenditure shall be financed only from ticket sales because, incredibly, there is no public financing. Born as an escape route for King Ferdinand II, became a refuge to protect the bombings during World War II and then filing for judicial seizures. To everything there is a moving testimony and a curious exhibition that Annalisa told us with great passion. Thank You Annalisa!

  • Parties from Ischia seeking a Naples to discover stumbled upon the Bourbon Gallery ... Phoebe, thanks to his passion, culture and her sweetness has charmed our emotions, describing the history of Naples ... Bourbon Gallery restored from many volunteers as Phoebe is really a place to be seen and to be recommended to all tourists in the world.

  • I accompanied my son who has attended a birthday party at Bourbon Gallery. While they were participating in a treasure hunt hilarious in the Gallery tunnels we parents we took a guided tour of the four souls of this gallery, which began as Tuff quarry before becoming strategic military path with the Bourbons, the air-raid shelter in World War II and can be claimed from 1930 to 1950. Recreate the laborious work of cleaners "munacielli," the fears of bombings and the history of contrabando or genius. A real treasure trove discovered thanks to volunteers of the Association which currently has the franchise of the tunnel, with Kudos for his work, but that should go on Thanksgiving of all for the care and dedication that they have in the management of the site is a true wonder.

  • Spectacular place, I've been there at least five times because it's so amazing. I've done both the historic and the adventure route. I suggest you this last one as you go on a raft for a bit and get to really cool places that you would never imagine. Also when I did the adventure route they gave me a free ticket for the historic / standard one. Definitely a must-do in Naples.
  • We did the speleo tour and it was amazing! We all felt like Indiana Jones exploring the tunnels. It was informative and fun. Thank you to Anne for organizing this awesome tour, and to our tour guides Marco, Mauro and Mario. Such a wonderful experience and staff!
  • This place takes a very different approach to the Neapolitan underground than Napoli Sotterranea. Definitely also worth a visit.
  • One of the coolest things I did while visiting Naples, our tour guide Assunta was very friendly and provided interesting information about all the history of the tunnels
  • Exceptionally knowledgeable staff and great attraction. Recommended.
