Galleria Borbonica, Naples
(4.8/5 based on 4,400+ reviews on the web)
Walk the underground tunnels at Galleria Borbonica, which that once connected a royal palace to army barracks and served as a bomb shelter during World War II. In the 16th century, 300 years before Bourbon king Ferdinand II decided to build a military underground passage, the tunnel housed water tanks for the city. You can still see the tanks, along with vintage cars, motorcycles, and fascist statues that were thrown away. One of the three available tours includes a raft ride in an abandoned subway tunnel filled with water. To visit Galleria Borbonica on your trip to Naples, use our Naples vacation planner.

  • Turned into a giant parking lot (Morelli), for transformation with great foresight, is a salvation x who wants to wander in the area or go to dinner or for shopping, since in the area of the park are big. More plans, very polite and helpful staff. It was an abandoned site, stolen cars and motorcycles or deposit therein conducted by police, today has a bar, a nightclub services. Only large mole, very high cost, but however much frequented. The Bourbons did dig as their escape route to the sea, but today is an excellent resource x Neapolitans

  • Meet at 11 o'clock on a Saturday morning. I had visited the subsoil of Naples, but every time it's always exciting to think about how much history and how many events have occurred over the years in these places. Path of the memories. Outstanding organization, at 10.45 the first group can already go down. The Guide, Mary, very professionally explains lightly and often dramatic historical events of World War II. Outstanding work done by the volunteers to recover these places, tunnels and cisterns (popped up to 50 m depth); A must do!

  • Spectacular place, I've been there at least five times because it's so amazing. I've done both the historic and the adventure route. I suggest you this last one as you go on a raft for a bit and get to really cool places that you would never imagine. Also when I did the adventure route they gave me a free ticket for the historic / standard one. Definitely a must-do in Naples.
  • We did the speleo tour and it was amazing! We all felt like Indiana Jones exploring the tunnels. It was informative and fun. Thank you to Anne for organizing this awesome tour, and to our tour guides Marco, Mauro and Mario. Such a wonderful experience and staff!
  • This place takes a very different approach to the Neapolitan underground than Napoli Sotterranea. Definitely also worth a visit.
  • One of the coolest things I did while visiting Naples, our tour guide Assunta was very friendly and provided interesting information about all the history of the tunnels
  • Exceptionally knowledgeable staff and great attraction. Recommended.
