Walk the underground tunnels at Galleria Borbonica, which that once connected a royal palace to army barracks and served as a bomb shelter during World War II. In the 16th century, 300 years before Bourbon king Ferdinand II decided to build a military underground passage, the tunnel housed water tanks for the city. You can still see the tanks, along with vintage cars, motorcycles, and fascist statues that were thrown away. One of the three available tours includes a raft ride in an abandoned subway tunnel filled with water. To visit Galleria Borbonica on your trip to Naples, use our Naples vacation planner.

  • With friends and our children, we visited the Gallery, more to the point, we did the adventure trail. Exciting! Interesting! The kids were intrigued, interested, thanks to the skill of our guide: Marco Rajput. The journey takes about an hour and a half, but we felt like ten minutes. We were fascinated by what they were seeing, what he was telling us the Guide. To see absolutely. Once again amazed by the treasures of our Naples. Once again amazed by how the passion of a group of geologists, without any subsidy, have unearthed another piece of history. Thank you. Thanks Mark Rajput. Go! Go! Go!
