  • Despite the nave both in restoration (making it nearly impossible to see the frescoes on the vault by Solimena and partially covering the large painting of the façade, designed by Paolo De Matteis) the Visual impact is significant for decoration 3:3 indoor aisles with Baroque side chapels and transept. The best part is that of the transept and the chancel, with the impending frescoed dome (the frescoes are partly damaged). Many paintings of considerable thickness in the Church, by the likes of Solimena, De Matteis, De Mura and others. The whole Church is worth a visit, but apart from the presbytery and transept already reported and the counter (though partly obscured by scaffolding), I invite you to pay attention to the 2° sx Chapel (the oldest of the Church) and 2° for dx Chapel the 17th century wooden crucifix above.

  • This beautiful late Baroque church 600, is located on via Toledo and near piazza Carità. The exterior does not attract much, but the Interior is very rich in stuccoes, decorations, beautiful frescoes of the main Neapolitan painters of the era, in particular the main vault of the nave and dome are impressive, beautiful also the chapels to sides of the aisle. During Christmas you can admire the typical Neapolitan Nativity scenes.

  • Baroque, we spontaneously between the 17th and 18th centuries, the Church is characterized so original, to the domes in each Bay of the two aisles that make it bright. It would be of great interest for its remarkable religious-themed decorations, but currently, for restoration, the scaffolding did not make it visible: the frescoes on the three bays of the nave (Solimena, 1696 episodes of life of Saint Nicholas) and the frescoes on the façade 1697 (de Matteis-Solimena). In addition, under the dome remained only traces of frescoes magicians of the De Mura. The remaining pictorial heritage visible, light permitting, is very communicative and, for devotees, of great beauty by portraying traditional religious motifs with decided moral rigor. Upon entering you will hit the canvas of the death of Saint Nicholas on the high altar, scenography, sumptuous and colorful, populated by figures that seem to really deliver the Holy, into a vortex in the sky. Many other paintings and sculptures will make the visit very satisfying.

  • This is one of those post that makes me realize the treasure we have and how little we value him. We found by chance during the norte of art, found in perta and walked us. The Church is fantastic, beautiful frescos recently restored. A must see!
