  • The monumental Church of the Holy Apostles is located in Largo Saints 9, along the ancient decumanus top of the historical centre of the city. The Church sees the outside staircase piperno dated 1685. The plan of the Church is a Latin cross and has a single nave with four chapels on each side and a semicircular apse. The roof of the nave is made with a barrel vault, while the chapels have elliptical domes. Inside there are various works of Giovanni Lanfranco and the only work in Naples to Francesco Borromini, the white marble altar Filomarino. Moreover, you can admire a painting cycle by Viviano Codazzi created in mid-1600. The dome, dating from 1680, presents a fresco depicting the paradise of Giovan Battista Benaschi. A cycle of frescoes by Francesco Solimena portraying 16 Saints on the arches in the chapels was executed between 1693 and 1698.

  • I had recommended to view this church and so I went to see her before going to see the Church of San Giovanni a Carbonara. Unfortunately, although the Church was open, and the keeper was kind enough to light the light, unfortunately you couldn't see well the ceiling. This is because, unfortunately, due to poor maintenance, parts of the ceiling falling and thus tend to give in and they had to put a net across the ceiling. Right now, I don't recommend you to go there because you will not see anything.

  • Such a shame that I didn't have enough time to see it inside. One of the first churches in the row of dozens of beautiful ones in Naples.
