  • The Cathedral Museum, is located in Monza, via Canonica, to enter the Museum, accessed from the base of the Bell Tower of the Cathedral, with as many as 1400 years of history, his major works, are many, from art, to the relics, to charity, preciousness of materials, make it unique in the world. I add so many things you can see, The Cup of Sapphire, Iron Crown, ampulla of the pilgrims, Crown of Theodelinda, cross of Theodelinda, statue of Saint John, tapestries with stories of St. John's wort, tooth, reliquary Goblet of Galeazzo Visconti, etc. The museum exposes two Silver Tablets, donated by Napoleon Bonaparte. Very nice.

  • Good morning, with children and grandparents stayed last Sunday on a visit to the museo del Duomo. This was our grandparents day gift. We booked the visit and with the downpayment required we showed up. The tour covers the chapel of Theodelinda, normally closed to the public. I have 2 children of 8 and 4 and a half years. When the Guide began in full speed its explanation (because, of course, was in a hurry to end up the next group's looming) children were quiet, enchanted by the beautiful place full of images. Just the little parlottava, not even aloud. The Guide has been vexed and invited me to come out with the baby. I tried to silence the baby but she kept throwing dirty looks and I had to go out after a few minutes. I asked for a refund of our 2 tickets (which cost however I came back from the very beginning because for 5 adults, of which 2 people in their seventies and 2 children = 72 € package!!!) and I was told no. Since they believe the child was not able to "support" the visit, nn there would be no refund. MAh! Eventually I was allowed to enter only at the moment of vision of the Iron Crown (which incidentally had already been open) with the next group, when my family members had already finished the visit and clearly the baby was with them. Then I lost the whole explanation of the paintings in the Chapel and not tell you with what mood I visited the Museum. The child, to which I had previously explained that we saw a beautiful precious Crown as a true King and many paintings of a Queen, along with grandparents, x celebrate their feast and thank them for the daily care of grandchildren, did not understand what happened and cried x being released now without seeing the famous Crown. This happens when you meet people ignorant! With children, even when they were toddlers, we visited museums in Vienna, Munich and in France but abroad there is openness of families, special rates and nobody gets scandalized x an exclamation of astonishment of a child. Mrs. Guide, thanks for having ruined a moment that was supposed to be!
