  • Not far from the city of Massa (about 3 km) rises above the village of Montignoso, Aghinolfi Castle; originally, in the light of the documents which certify the presence from 753, was a mighty bulwark which dominated the Valley and who controlled the coast not far. In later centuries, this castle that appears to have never been conquered, for the lack of maintenance works and to the abandonment, was reduced in pretty bad shape, but finally, at the beginning of 2000, was subjected to extensive recovery and restoration which allowed in 2008 to make available the facility and the Archaeological Park inside the walls outside of the Castle. The view and the view from the top of the Tower opens the eyes of the visitor is gorgeous, ranging from the islands of the Gulf of La Spezia, the coast of Livorno and Islands on the horizon as The Gorgona and Capraia.

  • the castle was restored in collaboration with architect Lucia Di Nubila. Inside you can see the layers of various ages and retrieved objects of everyday life. from the terrace of the restaurant, where you can enjoy the typical cuisine Apuana, it is worth pausing to watch the panorama that stretches along the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea from Lunigiana until all Versilia and beyond. On sunny days to distinguish the Tuscan Islands and Corsica.

  • Very characteristic with hay bales as seats. Have dinner with a breathtaking view. You see from Viareggio to Portovenere and if is fortunate to have a clear day see Gorgona, Capraia, Elba and Corsica. It's worth it. The menu consists of platters of cold cuts, cheeses and vegetables. Very yummy and filling. First there are testaroli with pesto or olive oil and cheese. With wine or beer spending about €15

  • Small fortress has been recently restored and made accessible to the public. The 360-degree view is magnificent, both day and night. There is a food court serving aperitifs well taken care of in a rustic and charming location. Good idea to watch the sun set over the sea, in front of a salami and sipping a beer!
