  • From this sanctuary, even internally, you can enjoy a wonderful view of the whole Bay of Monterosso and magic peace. We have achieved thanks to 109 trail that starts in Monterosso and in about 1:10 brings you to the top, but it is also possible to get there by car or by one of the 2 daily buses (timetable at the pro loco). The walk is quite demanding, especially for the altitude and the conditions of the first piece, and things to do in the morning, I'd say no later than 10:30-11 because if you wait there are too many strokes in the Sun. Bring sneakers or hiking boots, no sandals. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with children. Once at the top, there is plenty of shade, a fountain, a bed and breakfast and a bar that makes sandwiches, coffee etc and a restaurant with a few dishes but very good: we took the pansotti with walnut and got off after lunch to the same path.

  • Peaceful place. Beautiful church perched on the mountain with great views. Do walk from Monterosso (follow the indicated GR). For the bravest continue to Vernazza for a course of 8 km in approximately 2 h 45. It climbs well but the ride is worth it.

  • I went there for the first time to resume my daughter after a week of summer vacation with the oratorio. The location of the shrine is remarkable overlooking Monterosso there's the bar, a bed and breakfast, is a house in self-management for parish groups. Place where peace and silence, indispensable to those seeking tranquility.

Where to stay in Cinque Terre

Each of the five villages offer plenty of options--typically guesthouses or bed and breakfasts housed in brightly colored houses offering views over the water. If you want to explore Cinque Terre over several days, spend the first night in Riomaggiore--the most accessible of the five villages--then stay in Corniglia or Vernazza on your second night. That way, you can explore Manarola and Monterosso on day trips. You'll struggle to find budget accommodations in Cinque Terre, so expect to pay a premium and plan ahead.
