From this sanctuary, even internally, you can enjoy a wonderful view of the whole Bay of Monterosso and magic peace. We have achieved thanks to 109 trail that starts in Monterosso and in about 1:10 brings you to the top, but it is also possible to get there by car or by one of the 2 daily buses (timetable at the pro loco). The walk is quite demanding, especially for the altitude and the conditions of the first piece, and things to do in the morning, I'd say no later than 10:30-11 because if you wait there are too many strokes in the Sun. Bring sneakers or hiking boots, no sandals. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with children. Once at the top, there is plenty of shade, a fountain, a bed and breakfast and a bar that makes sandwiches, coffee etc and a restaurant with a few dishes but very good: we took the pansotti with walnut and got off after lunch to the same path.

Peaceful place. Beautiful church perched on the mountain with great views. Do walk from Monterosso (follow the indicated GR). For the bravest continue to Vernazza for a course of 8 km in approximately 2 h 45. It climbs well but the ride is worth it.

I went there for the first time to resume my daughter after a week of summer vacation with the oratorio. The location of the shrine is remarkable overlooking Monterosso there's the bar, a bed and breakfast, is a house in self-management for parish groups. Place where peace and silence, indispensable to those seeking tranquility.

  • Saved my life
  • I visited You on my 94 day to Padre Pio, on wednesday 22-12-04 i had my coldest night of the all pilgrimage total wet and only help from people who visited the church and scouting girls who brought me soup and by night a woman gave us a blanket .You didn't gave me a room because i had a dog what was not allowed. This was the coldest place of all the places the lord sended me
  • Liguria historical Sanctuary but poorly attended despite the convenience of the road. Sometimes not even explored inside. Inescapable destination but I believe that the sanctuaries of Montenero and Reggio are more engaging.

Where to stay in Cinque Terre

It's hard to go wrong with accommodations in Cinque Terre, home to some of the most charming hotels and bed and breakfasts in the country. Choosing among them depends largely on what you want most from your trip. Consider spending a restful vacation on the hilltop to enjoy the famous ocean views, or plant yourself somewhere closer to the shoreline in Riomaggiore for easy access to beaches. If you expect to spend lots of time exploring side streets and local shops, opt for accommodations along one of the main streets in any of the villages. Though it can be difficult to find inexpensive lodgings here, there are some more affordable options in Manarola, the smallest of the five villages, and Monterosso. You can even stay at a hostel in the national park if you want to be close to nature.
