Where to stay in Cinque Terre

It's hard to go wrong with accommodations in Cinque Terre, home to some of the most charming hotels and bed and breakfasts in the country. Choosing among them depends largely on what you want most from your trip. Consider spending a restful vacation on the hilltop to enjoy the famous ocean views, or plant yourself somewhere closer to the shoreline in Riomaggiore for easy access to beaches. If you expect to spend lots of time exploring side streets and local shops, opt for accommodations along one of the main streets in any of the villages. Though it can be difficult to find inexpensive lodgings here, there are some more affordable options in Manarola, the smallest of the five villages, and Monterosso. You can even stay at a hostel in the national park if you want to be close to nature.

  • The five star rating is for the view. We climbed up from Montorosso. That is a pretty good climb, but lovely. Almost all of the hike is in shade.  more »
  • Nice Sanctuary, a shrine place, the church is small and very pretty; she is on a height near the sea in Monterosso; a nice place for a walk.  more »
  • Over 2 Hours up hill almost all steps. Very challenging but very rewarding! Gorgeous views and a beautiful historic Montessori. Walk downhill towards Vernassi twice as difficult!  more »

  • I visited You on my 94 day to Padre Pio, on wednesday 22-12-04 i had my coldest night of the all pilgrimage total wet and only help from people who visited the church and scouting girls who brought me soup and by night a woman gave us a blanket .You didn't gave me a room because i had a dog what was not allowed. This was the coldest place of all the places the lord sended me
  • Liguria historical Sanctuary but poorly attended despite the convenience of the road. Sometimes not even explored inside. Inescapable destination but I believe that the sanctuaries of Montenero and Reggio are more engaging.
