  • Visited in an afternoon of a wonderful day of November, from the rock, which is reached after crossing a small public park, you can enjoy a spectacular panorama. Admission is free and besides the charm of the place, stepped on a tower, you can enjoy unparalleled views of the surrounding Lake Bolsena. Unfortunately the schedule did not allow to stay inside and enjoy the sunset, which however I did by going to admire in one open space at the foot of the rock. Take a camera, the phone is not enough!

  • Recommend this attraction (which is free) and its Museum (dedicated to Bramante and Renaissance fortifications). La rocca offers the opportunity, stepped on a high tower, to do some beautiful scenic shots of Montefiascone (Cathedral of Saint Margaret with the beautiful Dome) and especially on the Lake of Bolsena.

  • Stupenda vista sul lago di Bolsena.
  • La Rocca dei Papi is surely the most beautiful attraction of Montefiascone. Perched on top of the Hill on which stands the city offers absolutely unequaled in the near Bolsena Lake and all the neighbouring hills and valleys. Inside the fortress is a museum that unfortunately we couldn't visit, on the other hand we could climb the Tower of the pilgrim who, being the highest point, offers 360-degree views of both the city below it on the rest of the territory. The space in front of the fortress there is a nice garden where you can find shelter from the summer sun. At the base of the rock is also a refined wine cellar where you can taste wines and other local delicacies.
