  • After a long bike trip we landed on this island, until completely unknown to me. When I saw the CATS CROSSING road sign couldn't believe it. I thought it was a joke. But no. It is a paradise for cats, this car-free Islands, and that cats! All nice round and smooth-haired and bushy. Else who strays. A pleasant surprise!

  • Had a really nice trip to the island of Monte Isola. Sailed from Sale Marasino to Carzano and went with the road to Peschiera Maraglio. Had on the entire trip a unique view to the Mainland. From the city went there a hiking trail up to the town of Cure in 460 metres above sea level, from where a path that goes on up to the island's landmark the Church Santuario Madonna della Ceriola in 600 metres above sea level. The first part of the path from the water and up in the mountains was pretty tough and I had to give up due to knee problems. But the others made the trip which was easier further up. When I turned on I went down to the city and train with bus to Cure and met with the other there. It was, however, a long walk, as the bus was going around to the small towns on the island with school children. It was a great experience to run with the local bus, from which we could enjoy the view as well as the small towns with very narrow streets, as the bus just wiggle their way through with only millimeters to husmurene on both sides. On the island only runs public/commercial means of transport as well as plenty to scooters. After having horizontally with the road down from the Cure, we took the bus again-this time for a little before Carzano, from whence we wandered back to the boat first with a path that went behind the cemetery and ended up going through the city's narrow streets. A fantastic trip on a fantastic island.

  • I spent a pleasant day in Monte isola facilitated also by the awesome time. The advice is for those who like to take a relaxing walk by the Lake, and those who prefer to take a ride around the island (you can rent bikes on site) or to those who simply want to enjoy a good dish while enjoying the view. Ferries to get there are punctual and affordable cost. I'd go back maybe in the spring.
