  • My husband and I visited Monte Isola during a trip in Franciacorta and were thrilled by the splendor of this island so great and so green. The climate is mild and the island is full of flowers and birds. Very pleasant to walk and observe the Iseo Lake sat on a bench under an olive tree. There are also some interesting shops (very nice and quaint shop of bags made with the nets by hand). The only drawback: the island should be exclusively pedestrian bicycle ... Unfortunately in the street circulating many scooters and scooters whizzing by at high speed ... This is not very personable ... Unfortunately!

  • Place is just fabulous. Its tranquility and stillness that transmits is unique. Since you can't get to the island by car, you have to park your car in parking lots nearby. I recommend starting from sulzano which is the closest point to the island: it takes a little time to get there (about 3 min). Once you arrive you can rotate or by bike (can be rented on site 3.50 euros per hour), on foot or both. By bike you can turn the whole island in 1 hour and 30 min with some rest. Also, to go to the Sanctuary should take the minibus or you can go on foot (about 40 min calmly) bike can not go because it is a quite challenging and need a mountain bike. Of course, choose a nice sunny day and go with shoes and comfortable clothing. I think I've said pretty much everything, I just have to tell you good tour.

  • A few days ago I decided to take a trip to Monte Isola with my daughter. Starting from Corte Franca (highly recommend the farm "4 Lands") I left the car all day in Sulzano at pay parking (€ 6) with cash bar and a few hundred meters near the post office (opposite the post office only blue stops but unguarded and without bar). Then walk in 5 minutes I reached the lake front ticket bar where I bought two tickets for the navigation of the Lake (8 euros), we then reached Peschiera Maraglio in the blink of an eye. The boat is comfortable, constant speed, the weather was beautiful, the waves I miss a track. On the boat several households were equipped with mountain bikes since the island is accessible to mopeds, cyclists but luckily not to drive (except buses), I'll remember next time. Peschiera is an adorable little town with various artists who exhibit their works along the shore between houses that are interspersed with restaurants and ice cream parlours. The tourist office I was informed about the routes on foot on the island: I was listed in great detail and with great cordiality a variety of excursions. I opted for the combination (mini) bus (to be taken at 100 metres on the right from the boat) by locality care and walk (20 minutes) to the sanctuary of the Madonna della Ceriola (lovely but unfortunately closed to the public because it was Saturday) one of the highest points of the island returning then to the location where Care was held the feast of pork. I can say that it was a great day bathed in good weather. I have to thank the tourist girl who helped me find the waist I had absentmindedly forgot the pig Festival (which rolls with Salamis delicious!). Overall a memorable day! See you soon Monte Isola
