  • Interesting the monastery complex. Unfortunately because of the limited hours, we could only see the exterior.

  • many know the sacred mountains of the Alps (Varallo, Crea, Orta, Varese, Oropa etc.) but nobody knows there is a contemporary Sacro Monte in Tuscany than that of Varallo and reproducing Jerusalem. ... Excellent guided tour of friendly Franciscan tertiary (I think his name is Abdulaziz)

  • Let me start by saying that I am a practicing Catholic, I was out of curiosity driven by the story of a friend to visit this place. Is not difficult to get to by car or motorbike, albeit once it is projected back 500 years! The guide was very prepared and able to convey the passion that binds to these lands by telling anecdotes and spigandoci the story of this sacred place! These are small chapels each with frescoes with terracotta statues. Said so is simplistic but despite not being a religious (...) I was impressed by the ingenious solutions were found 500 years ago in order to live a unique experience at all (and not). In a few meters there is a feeling of stepping back in time and to be part of a theatrical representation that narrates the life of Jesus! The visit lasts about one hour and costs nine euros, very well spent! Congratulations to guide to knowledge and passion and to all those who take care of the place! P.s. only note (just to find something): mettets a sign clearly indicating the path from the parking lot.
