  • Town famous for chocolate, a Unesco World Heritage site, the so-called tourism is the main street that passes in front of the Town Hall. The city rebuilt in the early 1900s after a violent flood had destroyed in 1902. Here was born the writer Salvatore Quasimodo, whose birthplace is open and can be reached from a side street next to the Cathedral of Saint Peter. We could not visit it because it was closing time.

  • Although it was already closing time, the keeper of the birthplace of Quasimodo greeted us warmly and accompanied us during the visit. We could also listen to a recording with the poet that he declaimed his verses. Very impressive

  • If you go to Modica I recommend you to visit the home of Quasimodo. The rooms where he lived the first few months of his life are inside an ancient abode where you can enjoy a splendid panorama. Beautiful light in the late afternoon. A very nice guide accompanies you in the path and shows you with passion the memorabilia featured. Nice and exciting study where you can hear the voice of the poet reciting poems.

  • This is the place where he was born and where he spent a part of his life an infinitesimal. The testimonies are minimal and does not leave exactly the sign

  • You can hear the authentic voice of the poet. Charming
