  • The photo says it all. The Cathedral is still in the same condition as of may 2012 after the earthquakes that hit the off modenese. Soon it will be presented the project of reconstruction of the main church of Mirandola.

  • It's a shame to see such beautiful works ruined that way by the earthquake we hope to see them rise again.

  • Returning after several years in a place we remembered rich in artistic and architectural beauty and review it after the tragic earthquake in 2012 there has truly the heart. This religious edifice, built from 1440 and completed in 1470 by Galeotto and Antonio Maria Pico, brothers of Giovanni Pico, had inside works of particular interest, including the marble mausoleum dedicated to Antonio Bernardi, philosopher mirandolese died in 1565. Unfortunately, the earthquake caused the collapse of part of the façade and the entire presbytery, with the consequent loss of the fresco of the triumphal arch and around the high altar; also supported by wooden roof trusses collapsed causing the collapse of the time, whose rubble buried and destroyed in a very serious the Interior of the Church. Even the 48-metre-high Bell Tower, whose construction began from the 15th century, it was saved from this disaster, ending badly damaged. This review can only be an act of hope, in the hope that all works of art to this many other distributed along this battered country, can return to its former glory. (and hope the highest ratings only requires)
