  • Restored only in late-1990s after it was destroyed by the Germans on 14 October 1943, who would retreat to the Gustav line, escaping by the allies, the Real Ferdinando Bridge is still there, above the river Garigliano, to witness the brilliance and boldness of the Bourbons in the then Kingdom of the two Sicilies and especially of King Francis I, Duke of Bourbon who in 1828 from the task to engineer Luigi vows to build a suspension bridge as the few other bridges already exist in other European countries. The project was completed only in 1832, when the throne was Ferdinand II, first son of Francesco, who died two years earlier. Yet another jewel in the Crown of the Kingdom of the two Sicilies had the inauguration and the first test on 4 February 1832 in the presence of Francis II in addition to ambassadors, the military and ordinary people. You can visit this witness of past glory of these places by purchasing the ticket in the nearby archaeological site.

  • You can access this site by purchasing the ticket in the archaeological area. It's a beautiful bridge reconstructed with the original parts, too bad there is no alert enough and you may not find it while driving. the surrounding park is kept very well
