Landmark
Piazza Cordusio is a square in central Milan, Italy. The piazza takes its name from the Cors Ducis which was found in the square during Longobard times. It is well known for its several turn-of-the-19th-century Neoclassical, eclectic and Art Nouveau buildings, banks and post offices. Even though many of these have now relocated elsewhere, it is still an important commercial square in the city and hosts the Palazzo delle Assicurazioni Generali, the Palazzo del Credito Italiano and the Palazzo delle Poste, former Borsa di Milano . Piazzale Cordusio hosts the Cordusio metro station and is the starting point of the elegant pedestrian Via Dante which leads to the imposing medieval Castello Sforzesco, or Milan Castle. Opposite to Via Dante, Cordusio borders onto Piazza Mercanti, former city centre in the Middle Ages, which leads directly to Piazza del Duomo, today's city centre.PalacesPalazzo delle Assicurazioni GeneraliThis palace is the main one in the square, and was built by architect Luca Beltrami from 1897 to 1901. It is the main headquarter of the mega-finance corporation Assicurazioni Generali. It has a small tower with a dome.Palazzo del Credito ItalianoThe palace of the Credito Italiano, which is a semi-circular eclectic building, designed by Luigi Broggi.

  • Note the square in downtown Milan where are or were located several head offices of banks or the post office. The context is definitely very beautiful but also very busy saw the coming and going of trams. There is also a metro station.

  • The square is currently undergoing several renovations. In the square remains the sumptuous denominar palazzo delle Assicurazioni Generali

  • International and modern, elegant in its elliptical plan and with beautiful buildings in her Crown, Piazza Cordusio would have everything in order to define nice if it weren't for that perennial "clutter" road traffic and, alas, the parking of vehicles as diverse. Nevertheless, and as mentioned in the past, "the Cordusio" has its unique charm, definitely consolidated after recent interventions regarding the paving and street furniture; but in my opinion should be enhanced, perhaps with a small fountain and some bench in tone: basically the Cordusio is the link between two beautiful and important areas such as those of the Cathedral and Castle. Once in the middle of the square surrounding buildings deserve to be observed carefully, witnesses the profound modernisation and urban transformation started in the second half of the 19th century. Built in an eclectic style with some escape in the Liberty they bear the signatures of two great architects: Luca Beltrami (Assicurazioni Generali, Casa Dario Biandrà, Palazzo Banco di Napoli-under restoration) and Luigi Broggi (Italian Credit Palace, Palazzo della Borsa-under restoration, storage contracts). Waiting to see the result of the renovation and restoration of buildings, unfortunately passed into foreign hands, and hoping sooner or later in a real appreciation of the square this time check the maximum score "on trust". That is a good omen.

  • I bought a new SIM card ,, with internet package ,, they guy there told my u have to use the sim after 2 hours ,, I did ,, the internet not working ,, really people be away from this store specially how are visiting Milano .
  • Full of energy, full of young guys working there 😉
  • Good mobile service provider in italy
  • Terrible service. The short, brown hair girl that works there (didn't see her name) was super rude. I bought 1 day ago a new wind sim card with internet plan and it wasn't working. Anywhere in the world you would go to that operator's store and they would fix it. But this girl in a super rude way said that i must go to the same store, that they can't activate my sim in here. It's already very inconvenient that they can't activate your sim card in other wind stores and on the top of that, its very disappointing when customer service is being rude about it.
