  • This beautiful historic building was among the main stages of a fantastic tour of Milan, which my friend and I tried a few weeks ago. The talented guide told us many stories about the University and its former function of hospital, which at the time was using the innovative method to say the least. Patients were here not to be forgotten and in most cases die, but to try to heal with the assistance of doctors and nurses. The building was equipped with a system for heating during winter and ventilation in summer. Each patient was equipped with a single bed, the sheets were changed almost every day. Cures that today we take for granted, but that then had to be amazing because for the sick. We learned something about the legends that circulate among students at the University, how to not skip over the hedge on the beautiful lawn in the middle of the building. This probably goes back to the days of the hospital, when the Meadow was used as a giant mass grave for deceased patients. So, since in Italy is said to step on a tomb opens the door to bad luck, walking on this grass would be like treading on a giant's grave and poor student will never achieve the degree. It was very fun and interesting to compare all the stories of the members of our group regarding the superstitions surrounding universities worldwide.

  • The fact is that one to fifty years would want to get back to studying for a while, the place is magic especially if you live without anguish of certificates and transcripts to be filled. The inner courtyard of the Filarete jaw-dropping any visitor, every column invites you to stay and watch. There is also a time when the place becomes even more magical and it's April, and because various blooms give even more charm to the boundary and then why during the Fuorisalone these arcades are used to accommodate design objects. But a visit this building deserves any day of the year because it is a little-known symbol of a Milan if he wants he can be beautiful, a city that looks to the past and the future at the same time, forming young people where he wrote a piece of history.
