Museo Egizio, Milan

3.0
#60 of 74 in Museums in Milan
At Museo Egizio, explore Prehistory and Egyptian history and artifacts through several themed rooms. Although affiliated with the Civic Archeological Museum of Milan, these two collections are housed separately in Castle Sforzesco. See two real mummies, several sarcophagi, fragments of papyrus, and a statue of a pharaoh of the 22nd dynasty. Explore Italian and other European civilizations in three different rooms: the Bronze Age, the Iron Age, and the Celts, where relics include armor, bronze vessels, and wagons. Admission to both sections is included in the same ticket. Using our world travel planner, Milan attractions like Museo Egizio can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

I have been to this museum with my children of 3 and 5 years. It's true, the visit is brief but offers significant and well preserved pieces really. Recommend visiting for children.

Inside the Lombard Castello Sforzesco exceeded prehistoric Hall (with finds from the archaeological site of Golasecca wonderful moved here out of context and not valued, they would have had much more sense) there is an Egyptian room very interesting with two perfectly preserved Mummies and sarcophagi. A perfect introduction and worthy of note, is worth a stop during a visit to Castello Sforzesco

    Simply amazing.

Small Egyptian Museum interesting enough and large enough to be a culture on the Egyptians! But nothing to do with that of Turin which is the second in the world after the one in Cairo.

The exposure is small but well worth it. The few pieces are accompanied by extensive and interesting explanations. You enter with the combined ticket Castle Museum.
