  • It is building on the West side of the 16th-century well. Wells has received a declaration of bankruptcy "bankruptcy" stone was placed where the person in front of the public, to sit here, so had to hear the judge sentenced. The Declaration is provided by the OASIS House, right in front of the wells building Loggia balcony.

  • On the Piazza dei Mercanti façade the most interesting is probably the Loggia degli Osli. Even if he is today of the windows one can easily imagine someone sing a serenade at the bottom of the balcony. It is a rare remnant of the ancient times who luckily survived the bombing of the war.

  • I personally find that the Loggia degli Osii is the most beautiful and charming of Piazza dei Mercanti. Which is saying something, because the square is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places of Milan. And the lodge represents everything that makes a place so enchanting and surprising: rich in history (and stories, such as the origin of the word "bankruptcy") and of a great artistic value, it's really strange that isn't known and visited as it deserves. Of course also depends on whether it is in walking distance from the Duomo and the Galleria, which attract most of the tourists. On the other hand, the fact that the piazza dei Mercanti is not overrun with tourists is also good: the amazing medieval atmosphere is breathed in every corner and in every stone of the place, especially of the lodge. At the center of the balcony we find, for example, the famous Eagle (symbol of the administrative and justice), flanked by the Visconti snake, symbol of the Lords who ruled over the entire Milan and which lurks in many corners of the city. It is truly a beautiful place: is it worth getting away for a moment from the Cathedral square to visit it.

  • Of great beauty in piazza del Duomo is the Loggia Degli Osii, Gothic building of 1316. Here you can see the coat of the Visconti. In the middle is a small balcony called the "talk" because once you read his edicts.

Where to stay in Milan

For a quintessential Milanese experience, stay in the bustling heart of the old town. This area offers easy foot access to most of Milan's main sites, as well as some of the city's finest restaurants, shops, and theaters. The central area is also quite crowded, and comfortable rooms in good hotels can be very expensive. Visitors traveling on a budget can choose from a range of top-notch B&Bs and family-operated hostels, which offer private parking and access to private outdoor space, minutes from Milan's main attractions.
