Architectural Building Shopping Mall
Now a huge shopping mall, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II was designed by architect Giuseppe Mengoni and built between 1865 and 1877. Often called "the living room of Milan" because of its importance as a popular meeting and dining place, this building is topped by a glass dome and features an exquisite mosaic floor. Considered one of the city's main landmarks, the mall is home to some of the region's oldest shops, as well as a number of modern, upscale boutiques, including Louis Vuitton and Prada. Choose from numerous cafes and restaurants that serve a wide range of foods for all budgets. This busy commercial building is also a good place to learn about the city's art and architecture, with several notable galleries spread across the mall's extensive grounds. Where to stay in Milan

For a quintessential Milanese experience, stay in the bustling heart of the old town. This area offers easy foot access to most of Milan's main sites, as well as some of the city's finest restaurants, shops, and theaters. The central area is also quite crowded, and comfortable rooms in good hotels can be very expensive. Visitors traveling on a budget can choose from a range of top-notch B&Bs and family-operated hostels, which offer private parking and access to private outdoor space, minutes from Milan's main attractions.

  • It's a very cool place! One of the oldest shopping centers in the world. Most of the stores inside is insanely expensive but the look of the place and the history is amazing. There is always A LOT of people here. The surrounding area has a lot to offer; food, sightseeing, landmarks and more. If you go to Milan you have to visit this place and maybe see the mosaic bull.
  • Romantic place, full of gold and history. Perfect with friends or a partner. Close to the main square. Don't forget to try the "bull lucky move", and take a pic while doing it!
  • A unique place in Europe snd thus one of the Milan must sees. Enjoy the architecture, the crowds and get yourself an exclusive ice-cream. Upstairs you will find an affordable food gallery.
  • The mall is exquisite! The history it holds makes it unique. Added to that uniqueness an expensive taste and you get an addictive experience. You do not have to spend a lot of money there, just grab a beer and enjoy the ambience.
  • Situated next to Milan Cathedral this is certainly a pilgrimage for shopaholics and anyone who likes designer brands. My only reservation is that most of the tourists are so entranced by the location that they are more interested in taking selfies than looking around them. If you make it through to the other side there is a lovely little square with a statue of Leonardo De Vinci which is a nice resting place after the hustle and bustle of the Galleria.
