Must see · Architectural Building · Shopping Mall
Now a huge shopping mall, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II was designed by architect Giuseppe Mengoni and built between 1865 and 1877. Often called "the living room of Milan" because of its importance as a popular meeting and dining place, this building is topped by a glass dome and features an exquisite mosaic floor. Considered one of the city's main landmarks, the mall is home to some of the region's oldest shops, as well as a number of modern, upscale boutiques, including Louis Vuitton and Prada. Choose from numerous cafes and restaurants that serve a wide range of foods for all budgets. This busy commercial building is also a good place to learn about the city's art and architecture, with several notable galleries spread across the mall's extensive grounds. • Beautiful architecture. Great people watching. Good selection of restaurants and reasonable prices. Lots of high end shopping. Easy to get to by tram or Metro. Definitely worth a visit when in Milano.
  • I was craving a good Neapolitan pizza with salami and this place delivered. Also had the lamb with past and raspberry cheesecake. All very delicious. We were worried this might be too touristy because of the location but felt like a small family restaurant. The staff was all very pleasant and attentive. Recommend getting a reservation especially if you want to sit out by the plaza.
  • I loved this place!! There are many restaurants in here and many luxury brands have an outlet in here. I’m not into brands, so I didn’t care much for the shops. However, there were throngs of people in almost all the shops! I went in December and since it is Christmas season, they’d a Christmas tree and lighting. It was enchanting!! 😊 If you’re in Milan, you’ll anyway go to the Duomo. And, when you’re in that neighborhood, visit this mall - for its architectural splendor!
  • I love this place and all its wonderful shops and restaurants. Choosing leather gloves here is difficult because there are so many outstanding choices. Get a real Italian frappe (nothing like Starbucks') and a pistachio croissant, watch people, then walk around and be watched. The Chanel store is the very best and they treat you so well. Love!!!
  • This is Milan darling!! IMPRESSIVE PLACE AND PRICES!! A Calvin Klein t-shirt $150 US Dollars ($10 in Marshall) Just to compare. Food is out of this world. Best pizza ever!
