FAI Villa Necchi Campiglio, Milan
(4.6/5 based on 1,300+ reviews on the web)
One of Milan's museum houses, FAI Villa Necchi Campiglio offers a glimpse into villa architecture in interwar Italy. Designed by Italian architect Piero Portaluppi, this was created as a single-family home with opulent grounds, rather than a palace or mansion. Over the years, it was home to Milanese elite and European royalty. As you wander from one richly decorated room to another, admire paintings and other artwork from the 18th through the 20th centuries. Work out when and for how long to visit FAI Villa Necchi Campiglio and other Milan attractions using our handy Milan vacation planner.

  • Definitely worth the visit as not only the building is impressive but also the area of the city, just outside the city centre, is extremely interesting from the architectural point of view. The villa ...  more »
  • Undoubtedly the most beautiful villa in Milan: a bit hidden, a jewel of Milan. The park with outdoor pool is nice, rich in greenery and flowers in the summer. The bar by the pool is beautiful and perfect for guests to enjoy the beautiful location! To visit, especially when you make can also be visited within days.

  • I visited on a Saturday afternoon at 14 with few people and I quite enjoyed this villa with pool and garden in downtown Milan, completely unexpected and very elegant, well appointed and comfortable. Still I would love to live there. A special applause to the volunteers of DOING that with undoubted difficulties keeping open a museum so rich in works of art and artifacts in exclusive materials and delicate. A special mention to the architect Portaluppi that devised so harmonic and much gratitude to owners who decided to donate it to the community after their death.

  • Wonderful place, but the tour guides need to take themselves less seriously. We were an international group with two tour guides. Most people spoke English and not Italian, but the Italian tour guide kept on getting super upset because the other tour guide was explaining stuff in English. I'm sorry but you should realize that your clients are here to learn and if they can't understand then it defeats the purpose of the tour (which they paid for, mind you). You should be more adaptive to your customer's needs as their visit is what is keeping your foundation alive. As for the place itself, the villa was built for an aristocratic family. Fashion lovers will adore the extravagant closets and bedrooms of a highly fashionable elite.
  • So beautiful and a fascinating tour, UK National Trust members can use their membership here to get a free tour.
  • Sadly we didnt get in. There is a huge mess around where you should buy tickets or not and we didnt feel that would be such a good idea go in. It needs to be better advertised and more friendly inviting people over.
  • Beautiful Italian residence, 'I Am Love' was filmed here
  • For architecture and design lovers, this is a must. A wonderful house frozen in time with stunning gardens, a good so and an ok coffee place.
