  • I went to 8/2017. It is a church located in old Maggiore hospital, the reigning Milan University. Could not open unfortunately I visited on Sunday afternoon. Looks like in the old church, the atmosphere was look a little different from other churches.

  • The Church of the Annunciation-designed by Francesco Maria Richini, Giovanni Battista Pessina and Fabio Mangone-was built in 1637 during the expansion of the sforzesco Ospedale Maggiore "Ca ' Granda". The building lacks a real façade as it becomes one with the arcade in the central courtyard of the modern University, from which protrudes with dome and lantern. It is accessed from the beautiful door located under the arcades or along the narrow passage from Via Francesco Sforza, through a side door just after the entrance to the crypt. Quadrilateral central plan building and culminating with a dome supported by columns, contains some works of art. Particularly valuable: altar dominates the Annunciation painted in 1639 by Giovanni Francesco Barbieri, known as Guercino; on the left wall a remarkable wooden crucifix of ' 500 of the Lombard school; behind the baptismal font of the Holy family, XVII century painting attributed to Nuvolone; on the right side of the statue of St. Bartholomew, sculpture of sec. XVI by Marco d'agrate Ferrari and the crowning with thorns, anonymous copy of the famous painting by Titian. On the left side of the Church is the entrance to the ancient crypt and burial ground (free admission Monday through Thursday with no stop 9-17). I highly recommend you get down in this environment to its relevance both historical (until 1895 there were buried the dead of 5 days of Milan, then moved to the shrine of the square) and artistic (very valuable lapidary with funeral sculptures, While the paintings of 1637 were lost), and finally (there are still the remains of about 500,000 milanesi, who were buried between 1473 and 1695, and paleoanthropological studies are underway). In the crypt, where friendly volunteers of TCI provide any information, it is photography allowed provided that without using the flash.

  • Chiesa dell'Annunciata is located within the University of hull, in the region of the Milan Tribunal. I remember the square cupola and a huge number of columns at the entrance and support this very dome. The Church was built in the 18th century.

  • Church built early 1600 square-shaped with a central dome supported by eight columns. The passage is also in via Francesco Sforza 32, but nonetheless it also enters the University. A little dark if it hadn't opened the door. Behind the altar, a painting by Guercino dated 1639 depicting the Annunciation.
