  • This is a wonderful spot for Ferrari enthusiasts but lacks appeal for anyone else. It is really just a beautifully designed building with a bunch of special cars in it. Nothing else.  more »
  • Finding myself in Via Spadari I could nor wanted help but admire this masterpiece built in 1904 by the architect Ernesto Pirovano with the help of wrought iron specialist Alessandro Mazzucotelli. The cut of light of a beautiful spring morning highlighted every detail of the beautiful architectural and decorative plant, which in some gloomy winter days struggling to emerge fully. Thus in observe the eye has grown from refined stone friezes to the incredible lightness of slender columns, elegant squiggles: iron decorations, lush floral motifs, beautiful butterflies that seem to hover in flight at any moment making light House that hosts them. Really a little jewel for which is definitely worth taking a little detour from the usual tourist itineraries. Note also the buildings of successive numbers 7 and 9-casa Vanoni and House Peck-that although different from home Faris chronological and stylistic are the natural continuation (1907-09), forming an admirable "Liberty trilogy" which gives an extraordinary formal unity of the street.

  • Finding myself with some time to spare this morning, after various Liberty buildings visited in the past few weeks, I switched on Via Spadari right to review Casa Ferrario and, in particular, the amazing wrought iron decorations Mazzucotelli, author of much of the analogues ornaments present in the city. A really great job on his and that of architect Pirovano, thanks to which even the cast iron columns seem to hover read skyward.
