Arco della Pace, Milan

4.4
Overlooking the city center stands Arco della Pace, an early 19th-century triumphal arch. The Neoclassical marble structure features statues both on top and carved into the sides depicting major historic events, important battles, classical mythology, and allegories. The historical square is quiet, and the arch perfectly frames the castle in the distance. Walk through the large park, pack a picnic, and relax in the presence of this city landmark. • See it for the first time on board the tram number 1 I think is the better view of all. Majestic is lovely next to parco Sempione, not to miss the evening visit highly recommended over the weekend

  • This arch is clearly visible even from the Sforza castle. Beautiful Vista, majestic, yet natural. To reach the arch can be via Sempione Park. It is in good condition, you can sit back, take pictures, etc.

  • Best place I ever visit, Very beautiful architecture, Clean atmosphere and nice atmosphere This place is one of the best residence of the premier of any country if you compare. The garden is awesome and worth to visit it's amazing that just for one person they arranged and built such a huge building or almost a monument. Anyway it's very good for one visit.
  • Walking around Milan (modern city) you can find piece of history just round the corner. Beautiful park.
  • Great place for a walk and look at the history of the whole area. Great old castle at one side and the arch at the other. Then you can catch a tram back to the start very easily. Would definatly return.
  • Magnifico e imponente arco bianco alla fine di via Sempione e prima del parco. Attorno vi è un'area pedonale.
  • I just loved it. Single peace of architecture which is visible from distance either if you are arriving from the China town or from the park that separates the Sforzesco castle. Could just sit there and stare for hours.

Where to stay in Milan

For a quintessential Milanese experience, stay in the bustling heart of the old town. This area offers easy foot access to most of Milan's main sites, as well as some of the city's finest restaurants, shops, and theaters. The central area is also quite crowded, and comfortable rooms in good hotels can be very expensive. Visitors traveling on a budget can choose from a range of top-notch B&Bs and family-operated hostels, which offer private parking and access to private outdoor space, minutes from Milan's main attractions.
