  • The ruins are in two locations. Both are picturesque but the larger, which is closer to the town of Metaponto Lido, is the more interesting. There is little in the way of guidance, and the museum at t...  more »
  • Quiet, well laid out(by the Greeks 2600 years ago) some interesting stones and pillars left. Clean toilets.  more »
  • There has been a wealth of discovery of ancient Greeks through the exploitation of tombs in the area. The museum has a surprising amount of very nice artefacts that show how the ancient Greeks lived.  more »

  • ... a good review of exhibits that have come to us. I can only imagine that many exhibits have crossed national boundaries and make a fine show in the salons of rich fences!
