  • The Basilica Santuario Santa Antonio is located on the site of the former neighborhood said "Avignon". In 1881, in the houses of Avignon, it was inaugurated the first chapel dedicated to the sacred heart of Jesus. After the earthquake of 1908, saint Pope Pius X gave a church of the cabin in which Saint Hannibal proclaimed St. Anthony of Padua "benefactor singular and tireless and all our people who are recommended to our prayers." In the night between 26 and 27 April 1919, a mysterious fire destroyed the Church. Santa Maria Hannibal began his apostolate for the poor and needy from March 1978.
