  • Aside from the beauty of the Basilica, one thing I was very impressed, it was seeing, people taking part in the celebration of the Holy Mass, really intent to listen to the word of God ... Unlike many other celebrations, where there are people who chatter, disturbing who is next ... Really great composure ... The Basilica has at its core, a crypt, where it is guarded, the Holy Father Hannibal, referenced by the whole order of the fathers Rogazionisti, worldwide. You should also visit the small museum, designed to expose sacred objects, belonging to the Holy Father Hannibal.

  • The very beautiful church is a place for moments of prayer and reflection. In the crypt there is buried Saint Annibale Maria of France and founder of rogazionist. It can find at various times of the day be priests available to the masses.

  • After the earthquake of 1908 the previous Church, built the current sanctuary, in place of the former Church, at the behest of the Messina Saint Hannibal Mary Di France, founder of the religious congregations of the Rogationists and of the daughters of divine zeal. It was designed by engineer Leterio Savoja in eclectic style. Started in 1921 and opened on 4 April 1926, consecrated in 1937, the building is located in Avignon, which, in the first half of the 20th century, he was one of the most infamous of Messina, the Saint of dissatisfaction your tireless work in favor of the inhabitants. The shrine is located in via Santa Cecilia. The exteriors are made of stone of Melilli (Sicily, Italy), bronze statues, placed in niches beside the entrance, depict Saints Matthew and Luke, and are the work of Sindoni; the bas-reliefs that adorn the eardrums, including that of the heart of Jesus, are by Giuseppe D'Arrigo. Inside the Church is richly and fully decorated with stuccoes and paintings; the roof of the nave is frescoed panes, from the hand of Spanish Rosary. On the ceiling of the left aisle, dedicated to our Lady, you can see the triumph of the Immaculate, Judith and Holofernes, Virgin victorious over Snake, Queen Esther and Noah's Ark. By the same author are the paintings in the roof of the nave, depicting Jesus who entrusts to the Apostles the command of prayer for vocations, and temperas depicting the Prophet Elijah, on a chariot of fire, the triumph of the angelic choirs, the heart of Jesus, S. Margaret, Jesus good Shepherd and St. Cecilia at the organ. The crypt houses the body of the founder; half of incessant pilgrimages, has the dignity of a minor basilica by 23 June 2006. The basilica houses a Museum, a wing is dedicated to Saint Hannibal, another to Sant'Antonio di Padova and contains liturgical vestments and objects dedicated to the two Saints. Also you can see a hand-chiseled silver reliquary of the Holy Cross. In the same room lie two chasubles donated by John Paul II to the Rogationists from him, wear in ceremonies for beatification and canonisation of father Hannibal

  • Put 5 stars just because it was built at the behest of Hannibal otherwise I'd put just a say no more not to commit sins.
