  • The abbatial Palace of Loreto is located in the municipality of Mercogliano, Avellino province, and is run by a Benedictine monastic congregation mariana. The cloister is a fine example of Baroque architecture dating from the mid-18th century. For nearly three decades, during the summer season in the inner square of the Abbey of symphonic music concerts are held several valuable, however free, on these occasions you can enjoy a good technical level of the music festival and at the same time be charmed by the large attractive inner courtyard featuring a fine landscaped garden. One of the flagships of the Abbey is undoubtedly the Library where they are stored beyond 150,000 volumes and about 7000 ancient scrolls. To complete a tourist route, I recommend to visit the Abbey Palace together with other two events: on 12 September at the "Jute in Montevergine" held in Ospedaletto d'alpinolo, a town close to Moscow, and on the feast of the "Candlemas" when many gays, lesbians and transsexuals pays homage to Madonna di Montevergine with a pilgrimage to the shrine of Montevergine called "Juta of him".
