Where to stay in Merano

Merano offers a wide selection of luxury boutique hotels, small inns, and family-run B&Bs with their own restaurants. To enjoy fresh air and sweeping mountain views, stay at a hunting manor just outside the city. Though pricey, private manor-hotels offer easy access to the area's sports facilities, where you can hike, cycle, fish, golf, or ski. A less expensive alternative is to stay at one of the city's inns, which you can use as base for exploring the surrounding region.

  • This church was built in the 1400's. It is very dark and sparsely decorated inside, but the small altars and works of art are beautiful. It you have extra time, it is worth a look.  more »
  • I went a few times to the Holy Mass and I have to say it is located right next to the walks and the Centre of Merano, has parking lots, you have to go behind the Church and there are a few parking spots in pagamentoche are part of the State. It seems very Gothic style, and when you enter is very cold and austere, even though there was a nice little choir that sang very well and great acoustics, but I found it downright chilly, not for temperature, but to the ancient walls that can be also very nice to the various symbols in the middle of the altar and around the cylinder banks in order to keep closer people around the table. On the one hand, it is very unique and the Council to look at, is like entering in Castle anitico......li ' I wouldn't anything indeed a castle that would be great, but for a church I see too austere.

  • Located outside the city centre and the old town walls, the Church was built by Meinhard II in 1271 and was rebuilt after a flood nearly three centuries later, the Church, in Gothic style, is located on the left bank of the river passer and opens to visitors with a three-nave interior where, in the light of stained glass Windows you can admire the precious wooden statues and frescoes from the 14th and 15th centuries and in particular , always in the Gothic style, the altarpiece with the depiction of scenes from the life of Christ. .
